IN 1938 THE first small trampoline (rebounder) was created by Ed Russell. Today if you Google ‘rebounding exercises’, you will see over 28 million results, along with 300,000 Instagram posts,
I have been an ambassador for – the two best-known rebounder brands: Bellicon and JumpSport. But when I wanted a rebounder that matched my aspirations, the quest led me to Trimilin – a German-based manufacturer. They were the first to manufacture premium rebounders with bungee cords and folding legs.
The body is a system, not a set of individual parts. The JUMPGA training programmes are a mixture of high and low-intensity cardio combined with yoga. Every routine engages all 656 muscles in your body. It also alleviates up to 80% pressure on the joints. At the bottom of the bounce, your body experiences as much as four times the normal g-force and total weightlessness at the top.
It encompasses the five pillars of fitness: Cardio – Balance – Strength – Mobility – Flexibility. Rebounding produces molecular changes in the muscle, similar to going for a long run and lifting weights. Thus it provides the same fitness benefits as prolonged endurance training but in less time.
There is a lot of research on the rebounder, or mini-trampoline, and why it is one of the best things for our overall health that we should have in our homes. In 1979, the Journal of Applied Physiology said jumping on a trampoline causes more biochemical changes than running. So, NASA’s Biomechanical Research Division checked this out by comparing running, jogging, walking on a treadmill, and jumping – four different ways to work out.
When running on a treadmill, the back and head feel twice as much g-force as when jumping on a trampoline. That means that jumping doesn’t put extra stress on the body, the heart doesn’t have to work as hard, and you use up to twice as much oxygen as when you jog, run, walk, or run on a treadmill.
The ‘fun’ benefits of rebounding cannot be over-emphasised, and it is a form of ‘stress rejection’. When you jump on a JUMPGA, you can’t help but smile, and It is safe for all body types, so no matter how heavy you are or how bad your health is, you can jump on a JUMPGA to get all the health benefits without putting stress on your body.
