'I Never Gave Up on My Dream to Deliver Meta-Age to the World'

YOUR DREAMS ARE always achievable, no matter how old you are. Follow your dreams, and don't let anyone tell you it's too late. Your age doesn't limit what you can do if you believe in yourself and act. All it takes is commitment and the courage to keep going.

At my late mother's nursing home, I had an age epiphany and saw my future before my eyes as though I were looking into a crystal ball of life. An idea started developing— Meta-Age, a concept that redefines how we view and experience old age, offering a new life stage filled with vitality, purpose, and fulfilment.

The Birth of Meta-Age

My life had different plans at the time. I was working in the construction industry with my brother. A few years later, the country went into recession, and we ceased trading, wiping us out financially. But this was a turning point because I started taking my mind and body training more seriously. Then, I had a setback when I needed a hip resurfacing. I thought it would be the end of my crystal ball vision. It was a devastating time in my life, but I persevered. Life threw more dark and gloomy curve balls, contracting e-coli and having a prostate cancer scare, but I have always been resilient, finding the light at the end of the tunnel and constantly pushing through the trials and tribulations life would throw me.

Embracing Rejections and Failures

A small publishing house accepted the publication of my first of three books, "20-21," and soon after, things changed. The book gave me credibility, opened the door to travel and teach my philosophy to world-class spas, and convinced a faded boxer to do my training, who later became a world champion. My biggest lesson is to keep going, believing, and acting on my dream – perseverance is critical.

Lessons from History

We all love great leaders, inventors, scientists, athletes, and successful artists. But do you know why they were successful? They never gave up but persisted until they achieved their goals. Perseverance is being persistent in doing something despite setbacks, difficulties, or delays in realising your target. Ask me about any successful person you know, and I will tell you that their success story is complete with perseverance.

“There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss contains its seed, its lesson on how to improve your performance next time.”

Malcolm X

Think of the great leaders we admire—Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa, and Malcolm X. They faced significant difficulties before achieving success. Nelson Mandela, for instance, was imprisoned for 27 years in his fight for equality and independence in South Africa. Their stories are a testament to the power of perseverance.

The Power of Perseverance

Albert Einstein once said, "It's not that I'm so smart; it's just that I stay with problems longer." Perseverance is essential in all fields, and believing in your abilities and telling yourself, "I know this is difficult, but I will never give up until I am successful", can make a significant difference.

No one is born with all the intelligence and wisdom they need. However, with perseverance and constant practice, you can become competent in any skill or knowledge you seek to achieve. Charles Spurgeon famously said, "By perseverance, the snail reached the ark." Failures and mistakes should be seen as learning opportunities rather than setbacks.

Keep Pushing Forward

The successful people you admire all persevered before they achieved their goals, and so can you. Never give up—keep going, and the victory will be yours. Every obstacle you encounter is a step toward your ultimate success. The journey may be extended and challenging, but perseverance will lead you to your dreams. Remember, when faced with a setback, take a moment to reflect on what you've learned and how you can use that knowledge to move forward. Most importantly, it would help if you never lost sight of your dream. It's your North Star, guiding you through the darkest nights and the stormiest seas.

Conclusion

My dream to deliver Meta-Age to the world, making ageing fashionable by offering an alternative life stage to old age, has been fuelled by perseverance. Despite numerous setbacks and challenges, I never gave up. Age is just a number, and dreams are timeless. Embrace the challenges, learn from your failures, and persist through the hardships. Your determination and resilience will pave the way to success regardless of age.
